What is your hurricane or storm story?

Yesterday there was a crazy hail storm and it's summer so that was kind of whack

We had a microburst here in Ithaca last summer, and over a small area winds reached as high as 100 mph. It did severe damage to some barns, and a mile from the epicenter, where the wind speeds were lower, it still damaged a lot of trees. After that experience, I think it would be terrifying to be in the path of a hurricane.

In the 1990s, I used to work for a company that modeled hurricane risks for insurance companies. I think the risks keep getting higher.
